For over two years, we have been partnering with the Town of Hinton to address the pressing climate risks facing the community. Positioned between Jasper and Edson, two communities that have experienced significant environmental disasters in the past two years, Hinton is no stranger to the challenges of living in a landscape prone to climate-induced disasters.
Our partnership began with a Climate Risk Report to identify the region’s vulnerabilities. Building on these findings, we continue our collaboration with the community of Hinton through the Roots for Resilience program to co-develop a forward-looking Community Resilience Plan.
By engaging diverse voices across the community, this plan will co-create actionable strategies tailored to Hinton’s unique socioeconomic landscape and priorities that enhance the community’s potential to respond to climate change impacts.
